Due to the overall drop in the demand for betamax tapes, there has been a large increase in the cost of tapes. Currently we charge £7-00 for L750 (generally the only size we have).The passing trade demand is very low therefore we only keep 1 or 2 tapes in stock, however we can obtain further quantities at short notice from our nearby supplier. These tapes are of good brand usually Maxell -No other brands are supplied unless available at the time.
We usually have stock of used tapes, sold on a has seen basis, these are untested and sold in good faith. Cost £1 each or £8 for 10. Carrage extra. (Approx 100 in stock 11/03/01). Postage charged at cost. Most tapes L750.
We carry out repairs on older machines such as Sony SL C5/7 and Sanyo VTC5000. Select repairs are carried out on some others such as SL C9. More involved faults on the latter and SL F1 are carried out by Alan at PalSite, please e-mail him from the site.

SLC5/7 Rewind Mod Kit - some machines can be repaired without this.
SLC9 DC-DC converter- failure causes no or dim display and also prevents tuner operation. In some cases the DC-DC Converter can be repaired.

Repairs on these machines can be time consuming and unless required urgently they are not given priorty, repairs may take in excess of TEN months. The minimum charge is £50-00 and we do not accept items where you are not prepared to spend up to £100-00 if required. Most mechanical repairs (not heads or motors) usually cost arround £65. This is only a rough guide has we can not estimate until we see the machine. Refused estimates are sometimes charged for (typically £15). Carrage to and from us must be arranged by yourselves. Local collection/ delivery sometimes possible. A minimum three months guarantee with all repairs (on the repair) is subject to availability of parts which are charged for.
